In 2021 residents and visitors will be able to swim again in the Coupurerei in Bruges after reservation. In 2019, the City of Bruges created a legal framework to allow recreational swimming on that location, taking into account the concerns of the neighbors.
Just as last year a construction was built on the quay with a first aid room, showers and sanitary facilities. The bathing platform itself consists of an access ramp, a sun terrace, a children's pool and several benches.
The swimming season in the Coupure started on Saturday 26 June and ends on Tuesday 31 August. The organization of the swimming event is in the hands of the sports department, which in turn calls on Brugge Plus for the productional development of the platform.
